Skillcrown and Golding Homes Win RICS South East Community Benefit Award
22nd June 2026
Skillcrown and Golding Homes are proud to announce that Ringside Revival: A Community Fightback has won the Community Benefit Award at the RICS UK Awards 2026, South East.
The award recognises the success of a collaborative community project that transformed Maidstone Amateur Boxing Club (ABC), a valued grassroots organisation that supports more than 100 young people and families across the local area.
The Ringside Revival initiative was created to address the club's immediate repair and improvement needs while helping to secure its future as a safe, inclusive and positive environment for local people. Working alongside Golding Homes, Maidstone ABC, local supporters and a dedicated network of supply chain partners, Skillcrown helped deliver a wide-ranging programme of improvements that included a new competition-grade boxing ring, upgraded flooring, improved lighting, air conditioning, roof repairs, internal and external refurbishment works and new training equipment.
A hardship fund was also established to help remove financial barriers for young people wishing to participate in the sport, ensuring that opportunities remain accessible regardless of personal circumstances.
For many young people, Maidstone ABC provides far more than sporting opportunities. The club offers a sense of belonging, structure and support, helping members build confidence, resilience, discipline and self-esteem. It also plays an important role in bringing the local community together and providing positive opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
The RICS Community Benefit Award celebrates projects that deliver meaningful and lasting social value. Winning the award is recognition of the positive impact that can be achieved when housing providers, contractors, community organisations and local businesses work together towards a common goal.
Commenting on the award, Matt Arnold, Land & Development Director at Skillcrown, said: "This project demonstrated what can be achieved when people come together to support a community asset that genuinely changes lives. Maidstone ABC is an incredible organisation and we are proud to have worked alongside Golding Homes, the club and our supply chain partners to help secure its future. Winning this award is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved."
Skillcrown would like to thank Golding Homes, Maidstone Amateur Boxing Club and all of the supply chain partners, supporters and volunteers who contributed their time, expertise and resources to make the project a success.
The award-winning project reflects Skillcrown's ongoing commitment to delivering social value and creating lasting benefits within the communities where we work. While the physical improvements have now been completed, the positive impact of Ringside Revival will continue to be felt for many years to come.
