Skillcrown Homes has celebrated the successful completion of 40 new affordable homes at Britannia House and Earl's House on Granville Road, Maidstone, marking another important milestone in its ongoing partnership with Maidstone Borough Council.

The completion was officially marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Brian Clark, alongside local councillors, representatives from Maidstone Borough Council and members of the project team.

Despite the wet weather, the event provided an opportunity to celebrate the successful delivery of the development and recognise the collaborative efforts of everyone involved.

Delivering Much-Needed Affordable Housing

Located on Granville Road, close to Maidstone town centre, the development comprises two apartment buildings providing 40 new affordable homes, including 24 one-bedroom and 16 two-bedroom apartments.

Delivered in partnership with Maidstone Borough Council, the scheme has transformed previously underused sites into high-quality affordable housing, helping to meet the continued demand for homes across the borough.

Building on a Successful Partnership

The completion of Britannia House and Earl's House represents another significant milestone in Skillcrown's growing relationship with Maidstone Borough Council.
Together, the two organisations have now delivered 83 affordable homes across three sites, including the recently completed developments at Len Martin Court, Corbens Place (24 apartments) and Wilberforce House, Tonbridge Road (19 apartments).

A further 41 homes are in the pipeline, comprising 23 homes at the second phase of Corbens Place and another 18 homes at the next phase of Granville Road.
In total, these projects represent a programme of 124 affordable homes, either completed or progressing through delivery, demonstrating the strength of the partnership and a shared commitment to increasing the supply of affordable housing in Maidstone.

Matt Arnold, Land & Development Director at Skillcrown Homes, commented:-
“We're delighted to have completed another 40 much-needed affordable homes for Maidstone Borough Council.  It marks another important milestone in our excellent working relationship with the Council, with 83 homes now completed across three sites and a further 41 in the pipeline.  We're proud to have played our part in delivering these new homes and look forward to continuing our partnership with the Council, providing more high-quality affordable housing for local people.”
