Skillcrown marks breaking ground at White Oak, Swanley
2nd July 2026
Skillcrown was pleased to welcome representatives from Sevenoaks District Council and Airey Miller this week to officially mark the start of works at our White Oak, Swanley project.
The event was held on site, with councillors and project partners given an update on progress to date, followed by photographs to mark this important early milestone.
Skillcrown is working in partnership with Sevenoaks District Council to deliver 60 new homes on land previously occupied by the old White Oak Leisure Centre. The scheme will comprise 15 three-bedroom houses and a four-storey apartment building providing 45 one and two bedroom apartments.
The development forms part of the wider regeneration of the White Oak area, sitting alongside the recently completed leisure centre. The scheme will include landscaped areas, improved pedestrian links and a central shared community garden, with retained mature trees, new planting and biodiversity enhancements. The homes will also include a range of energy-efficient measures, including photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps and high levels of insulation.
Works are now progressing well on site. The main clearance works have been completed, piling is well underway and the project team will shortly be moving forward with the next stage of groundworks, including drainage, raft slabs and site road formation.
Matt Arnold, Land & Development Director at Skillcrown, said:
“We were delighted to welcome councillors and project partners to White Oak to mark this important milestone. Skillcrown is pleased to be working in partnership with Sevenoaks District Council to deliver this exciting scheme for Swanley. The development will make good use of a brownfield site, provide much-needed new homes and help support the wider regeneration of the area around the new leisure centre. We look forward to continuing to work closely with the Council, local residents and the wider project team as the scheme moves forward.”
Skillcrown would like to thank Sevenoaks District Council, Airey Miller, the design team and supply chain partners for their continued work in helping bring the project forward.
