‘My Construction Journey’… with Louis Dymond

Here at Skillcrown, we are delighted our Junior Site Manager, Louis Dymond has enrolled in the HNC Level 4 Construction and Built Environment course.

Previously joining Skillcrown as an apprentice, Louis started on an NVQ qualification in Business Administration. He has now been with us for over a year and progressed to the role of Junior Site Manager, assisting the Senior Site Manager with tasks to ensure the correct completion of works is carried out on our current housing development, Arcadia House in Croydon. Working together with the Site Manager, he is responsible for ensuring working methods are performed correctly and adhering to safe working practices on site, as well as, supervising sub-contractors and trades.

Louis comments, “The course I am studying is very complex, consisting of many challenging but interesting assignments. I am currently learning the importance of health and safety in construction in relation to the regulations involved and the consequences of not following them. I am also learning about the history of concrete; the curing process and ways in which you can increase the speed of the cure of concrete. Studying this course and working as a Junior Site Manager is great as I am putting my knowledge to practice. I enjoy what I do and look forward to completing my course, which I will hopefully go on to completing SMSTS and run my first job by the age of 23. Thank you Skillcrown for funding my course”.

“We are proud that Louis has taken this step forward to improve and enhance his skills and knowledge”, said Managing Director, Salik Osman. “As an apprentice with us at Skillcrown, Louis worked well and demonstrated keen interest in the industry. We kept him on and he has continued to work hard and develop within his role as Junior Site Manager and we wish him all the best in future”.
